Peri Peri Fries are crispy golden French fries tossed in a bold, spicy, and tangy peri peri seasoning. Inspired by African-Portuguese flavors, these fries are a perfect snack, side dish, or party favorite.





🛒 Ingredients




For Fries:



  • 3–4 large potatoes (Russet or any starchy potatoes)
  • Oil (for deep frying or baking)
  • Salt to taste




For Peri Peri Masala:



  • 1 tbsp paprika
  • 1 tsp red chili powder (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp dried oregano
  • ½ tsp dried thyme
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp sugar
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp lemon powder or chaat masala (for tangy flavor)



(You can also use ready-made peri peri seasoning)





👨‍🍳 How to Make Peri Peri Fries




Step 1: Prepare Potatoes



  • Wash, peel, and cut potatoes into thin fries.
  • Soak in cold water for 30 minutes (removes starch for crispiness).




Step 2: Dry & Fry



  • Pat dry completely with a kitchen towel.
  • Heat oil and fry at medium heat until light golden.
  • Remove and let them rest for 5–7 minutes.




Step 3: Double Fry (Secret Tip 🔥)



  • Fry again at high heat until crispy and golden brown.



(Alternative: Bake or air-fry at 200°C for 20–25 mins)



Step 4: Toss with Peri Peri Masala



  • Transfer hot fries into a bowl.
  • Sprinkle peri peri seasoning generously.
  • Toss well so every fry is coated evenly.
